Exciting new productions on Screenbase include Spanish film Todo Es Silencio, Belgian-French co-production Goodbye Morocco, as well as German road movie Nachtlärm.
A group of youngsters discover the world of drug trafficking and the smuggling networks that operate on the Galician coast in José Luis Cuerda’s latest project Todo Es Silencio. The film is based on a screenplay by Manuel Rivas, who also wrote the novel, and stars Miguel Angel Silvestre and Quim Gutiérrez. Tornasol Films, Castafiore Films, Zebra Producciones, Milou Films and Foresta Films are jointly co-producing and Canal +, TVG and TVE provided financial backing. Shooting is currently taking place in Galicia, and in Alicante’s Ciudad de la Luz Studios, with completion scheduled for early October.
Nadir Moknèche is preparing principal photography for Goodbye Morocco, about a couple who discovers some third-century Christian tombs whilst building their luxury villa in Morocco but events take a turn for the worse when one of their workers disappears. The seven weeks shoot is scheduled to start on October 4 and will take place in Lyon and Casablanca. Bertrand Gore and Nathalie Mesuret are producing for Blue Monday Productions, with France 2 Cinema, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma and Need Productions co-producing. Lubna Azabal is heading up the cast alongside Grégory Gadebois, Rasha Bukvic and Ralph Amoussou. The feature received funding from the CNC, Sofica Cinemages and the Belgian Inver Invest Tax Shelter. A release is planned for late 2012 or early 2013 through Les Films Du Losange in France and O’Brother Distribution in Belgium with the former also handling international sales.
Currently shooting in Germany is German director Christoph Schaub’s comedy road movie Nachtlärm. The story centres on a couple who take up a chase through the night after their car is stolen from a service station whilst their young baby is inside. Alexandra Maria Lara and Sebastian Blomberg have been cast in the lead roles. Production duties are split between X-Filme Creative Pool and T&C Film, with funding coming from the Swiss Cultural Institute, Zürcher Filmstiftung, Suissimage, FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (fff-bayern) and the German Federal Film Board (FFA). Shooting will wrap at the end of October with X Verleih releasing the film in Germany. Thim Film acquired Austrian distribution rights while Columbus Film will distribute across Switzerland.
