Goalpost Film’s has announced its Berlin slate, which includes Closed For Winter and Little Sister, thecompany has also acquired international sales and licensing rights for Dances With Wolves.
Closed For Winter was directed by James Bogle and stars Natalie Imbruglia. It was produced by Goalpost’s sister company in Australia, Goalpost Pictures. The Australian outfit is headed up by Rosemary Blight, Ben Grant, and Kylie du Fresne.
Closed For Winter will have its world premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival and will be released throughout Australia from the last week of April.
The sales company, which is headed up by Tristan Whalley and Nicki Parfitt, has also recently invested in the feature documentary Three Miles North Of Molkom, which is directed by Robert Cannan and Corinna Villari-McFarlane. It will be released theatrically in the UK from April 2009 through Metrodome.
A further EFM title for Goalpost is Little Sister, which was written and directed by Richard Bowen. It starts principal photography in Yunnan, Southern China on February 16 retells the original Cinderella story. The film will have an all Chinese cast.
Goalpost Film’s slate will also include Brazuca. Directed by Henrique Goldman and produced by Luke Schiller, it tells the story of Jean Charles de Menezes who was shot by the British police in 2005.
The sales company has also taken international sales and licensing rights for Kevin Costner and Jim Wilson’s Oscar winning Dances With Wolves. MGM have North American rights. The film will celebrate its 20th anniversary year in 2010. The company plans to set up events and re-releases of the film in a number of territories.
