Celebrating its firstanniversary at AFM, 2929 International is reporting brisk sales on its slate ofsix Steven Soderbergh features commissioned earlier this year by 2929Entertainment chiefs Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban.
Headed up by the small townmystery Bubble, the package ofotherwise as yet untitled pictures that Soderbergh will make over the next fiveyears has gone to Tohokushinsha for Japan, Metropolitan Films for France,Mediafilm for Italy, Manga Films for Spain, Becker for Australia, and EAP forEastern Europe.
The pictures will open inthe US simultaneously through 2929's vertically integrated distributionstructure, which includes Magnolia Pictures and HDNet Movies, as well as onhome video.
Major territory deals havealso been struck on the recently completed comedy Fast Track starring Zach Braff and Amanda Peet, thriller Prey starring Josh Duhamel and Melissa George, andupcoming horror remake Black Christmas.
Fast Track has gone to Icon for the UK, M6 in France, Mediafilmin Italy, Village Roadshow for Australia, Svenskfilm for Scandinavia, andParadiso for Benelux.
Prey has been licensed to TF1 for France, Eagle forItaly, Svenskfilm for Scandinavia and Paradisio for Benelux.
Black Christmas has been licensed to TF1 for France, Pathe for UK,Mediafilm in Italy, Nordisk for Scandinavia and Paradiso for Benelux.
