The film tells the story of a young man (Zegers) from one of Brooklyn's tough neighborhoods, who takes on a job from the local mob boss so he can pay his photography college tuition in
Manhattan. The film is screening here at the AFM.
Meanwhile, 6 Sales is also beginning sales on European co-production Wave, starring Franka Potente and directed by Maria Ripoli. ARD Degeto has taken free TV rights in Germany and Kinoswiat has also taken all Polish rights on the 9 million Euro project about a family of lost at sea for two weeks with no water or food.
The script written by Marie-Laure Bertehlin and Greg Latter is based on the survivor's novel, Let Me Survive. Produced by Jean Luc Van Damme (Goodbye Bafana) through his Belgian outfit Banana Films, the film is set up as a Spanish (De Palacio), German (Qix/ARD Degeto) co-production along with the support of Future Film in the UK. Carlos Taillefer & Pepon Sigler will be co-producers in Spain and Jan Fantl in Germany.
Principal photography will start on February 9 on location in Alicante's Ciudad De La Luz, using the studio's new water tank.
