Spanish auteur and Cannes favourite Pedro Almodovar is the subject of a new feature doc that will give a unique insight into his filmmaking methods. Insolent Frames, a new feature documentary, being introduced in the market by 6 Sales. Directed by Chema De La Pena, the new film chronicles everything from his arrival in Madrid in 1969 to the release of his first film in 1980. The doc features shorts, footage and interviews which the director has agreed to show for the “first time ever.”
In the run up to Cannes, 6 Sales has also announced a number of new deals on other titles. The company has sold Fernando Trueba’s The Dancer And The Thief to Arrow Films for UK and to Jaguar Airlines. Simon Fellows’ Malice In Wonderland, starring Maggie Grace, has gone to Japan (Aya Pro) and in Australia/New Zealand (VM Distribution).
Meanwhile, Chris Gill’s new cut of Locked In has been pre-sold to Korea (Planis Entertainment) and the Middle East (Falcon Films.)
6 Sales has also been racking up deals on the Saul Zaentz library, relicensing of Amadeus, Cuckoo’s Nest, Unbearable Lightness of Being, Mosquito
