Universal's drama 8Mile grossed $2.9m from 1,469theatres in 25 markets over the weekend, raising its international runningtotal to $77.7m with 12 markets still to open. The picture had a strong Koreanbow with $524,000 from 75 screens, and took $18,000 from nine screens on itsopening day in Slovenia, marking Universal's fourth biggest bow of alltime behind The Lost World, Twister and Bridget Jones's Diary. Slovenia scored an excellent $71,000 for theweekend. The picture also opened in Croatia and Hungary, where it opened numberone on $222,000 from 28 screens.
This week 8 Mile is set to open in France, Belgium andFrench-speaking Switzerland. Italy follows on Mar 14, with Brazil slated forrelease on Mar 21 and Japan on Jun 14.
