French TV company AB Groupe has signed a long-term distribution deal with Paramount Pictures, which will include 175 Paramount catalogue titles for French-speaking Europe.
The agreement, effective immediately, will run for eight years.
Titles include Forrest Gump, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Beverly Hills Cop and Mission: Impossible.
Richard Maroko, EVP of programming at AB, said: “I am very glad that we have been able to conclude this deal with one of the leading American studios. This is a unique opportunity to distribute, and to broadcast on our own channels, high quality movies, especially at a time when cinema is making a comeback on television in France, particularly on the DTT and theme channels.”
AB Groupe is a content provider for French-language TV stations; and it also operates 17 themed channels. Its catalogue includes more than 20,000 hours of programming.
