The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences has decided not to implement a drastic date change as previously mooted.
The Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan 15 2013 ahead of the awards ceremony at the Hollywood & Highland Center, formerly known as the Kodak Theater before Eastman Kodak filed for bankruptcy and removed its name from the venue before the Oscar show last month.
The nomination slot is situated nine days earlier in the calendar than its predecessor from the 84th Academy cycle, which took place on Jan 24 ahead of last month’s ceremony on Feb 26 ceremony.
Press speculation during the awards season had suggested the Academy was mulling a switch to either late January or early February.
