American Cinema International (ACI) has come on to handle sales on family action film Snake and Mongoose and is screening the drama at the AFM.
Snake And Mongoose will screen on November 6, 7, 10 and 11 and stars Jesse Williams (pictured) and Richard Blake in the true story of Southern California drag racers Don ‘The Snake’ Prudhomme and Tom ‘The Mongoose’ McEwen.
The pair teamed up with Mattel’s Hot Wheels division to bring drag racing into the mainstream and revolutionise sports marketing. The film has opened in 25 US cities since August. Noah Wyle, Ashley Hinshaw, Tim Blake Nelson, Leonardo Nam, Ian Ziering and Fred Dryer round out the cast.
Automotive industry journalist Alan Paradise co-wrote the screenplay with director Wayne Holloway, while Robin Broidy of Entertainment Universe and Stephen Nemeth of Rhino Films produced.
“We’re excited to be participating in AFM again this year, which enables us to reach a global audience for our distribution projects,” said ACI president Chevonne O’Shaughnessey.
“Our latest acquisition of Snake And Mongoose is in line with one of the genres we have been closely focused on.”
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with ACI,” said Broidy. “George Shamieh and Chevonne O’Shaughnessy have years of international sales experience are extremely well-respected and are particularly adept with films centred around racing.”
