India’s Adlabs Films is establishing an outsourcing centre for digital restoration and content processing, which will comply with Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA) standards.
The centre aims to provide a comprehensive one-point solution for transition from analogue to digital and physical media to digital data. Its services include restoration, encoding, transcoding, compression authoring, format and standards conversion, duplication and dubs and archiving.
It has already secured an order for the digitisation and digital restoration of 1,000 films preserved by the National Film Archive of India in the city of Pune. Other clients are likely to be content owners – including international studios, broadcast and television networks, library owners and mobile companies across the world.
Adlabs Films CEO Anil Arjun said: “Adlabs has significant experience in handling film media in various formats. Coupled with the optical fibre network, the comprehensive services of the mediaBPO enable a distinctive and complete offering to Adlabs’ worldwide clients.”
