Anne Fontaine’s drama is set to close the Montreal World Film Festival’s 37th edition on Sept 2.
Adore (formerly Two Mothers) stars Naomi Watts and Robin Wright as best friends who fall for each other’s teenage sons. James Frecheville and Xavier Samuel also star.
Christopher Hampton adapted the screenplay from Doris Lessing’s short novel The Grandmothers.
“I hope Canadian audiences, who I know to be open-minded, will be sensitive to this portrait of particular passions,” said Fontaine.
Remstar Films is releasing the film in Canada, Exclusive Releasing will distribute in the US and Gaumont handles international sales.
