Festival hierarchy have announced the dates for the 28th edition of the festival in Hollywood.

AFI FEST 2014 is scheduled to run from November 6-13.

June 27 is the early submission deadline for both features and shorts, while the final deadline is August 8.

The festival is a qualifying event for Oscar shorts consideration.

Last year’s edition opened with the North American premiere of Saving Mr Banks (pictured).
