More than 300 film industry personnel attended an event hosted at the end of the AFM by MFG Film Funding and the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart.
MFG CEO Carl Bergengruen (pictured, at right) and German consul-general Bernd Fischer (pictured, at left) spoke to guests at the Villa Aurora in Pacific Palisades on November 9 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The Stuttgart-based fund is a leading German backer of the effects and animation business.
Stuttgart is the hub of Studio Soi, whose credits include The Gruffalo; Pixomondo, the company that worked on The Avengers, Hugo and Oblivion; m.a.r.k.13, which worked on Maya The Bee; and Game Of Thrones collaborator MackeVision.
Villa Aurora will host the pre-Oscar party for German-speaking industry representatives.
