Paris and Hong Kong-based sales outfit All Rights Entertainment (ARE) has picked up international rights to hard-hitting Chinese drama Burned Wings and Herman Yau’s The Second Coming.
Directed by Zheng Kuo, Burned Wings follows four young gangsters in a small town in Northern China as they battle other gangs and the local police. The cast of the Hong Kong-China co-production is headed by Yang Shicong and Li Haoyu.
The Second Coming is the first 3D feature from Hong Kong-based cult horror director Herman Yau, who co-directed with Ng Tin Chi.
Starring Joey Leong, the film revolves around a family which is forced to confront its past when the daughter’s behaviour escalates into violence. Ng also scripted the film, which is currently in post-production, and produced with Flora Goh.
ARE also has international rights to Chinese animation Dragon Nest, based on a Shanda Interactive game with 120 million players worldwide, which is being made as a trilogy.
