Finnish drama Ambush, set during the Second World War, won the 16th Festroia film festival's top honour, the Gold Dolphin, on Saturday night. The film also won the best director award for Olli Saarela.
The international jury, presided over by Spanish director Juan Antonio Bardem, gave its Special Prize to Jewish family saga Glamour, directed by Frigyos Godros. The FIPRESCI international critics' prize went to Czech director Sasa Gedeon's Return Of The Idiot.
Berlin producer Regina Ziegler attended the event for a 14-title tribute and Italian star Franco Nero introduced his son Carlo's debut feature Uninvited.
The festival, which takes place in Setubal near Lisbon, Portugal, ran from June 1-10. Next year's event will include a focus on Iceland and retrospective of Euro-Westerns.
