Mary Harron's American Psycho, starring Christian Bale, will be the opening film at this year's Fantasy Filmfest in Germany.
The peripatetic festival for genre and thriller titles, held from July 26 to August 23, will tour through Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. James Wong's darkly comic Final Destination closes proceedings in Berlin.
Films confirmed for the event so far include Mike Mendez's The Convent and Frederic Schoendoerffer's Crime Scenes (Scenes De Crimes), starring Charles Berling and Andre Dussollier. Also screening is Jaume Balaguero's Los Sin Nombre (The Nameless), which has been garnering kudos on the festival circuit, picking up the Golden Raven at the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Film and the grand prize for a European fantasy film at Sitges in Spain.
