Fruitvale Station producer Sev Ohanian, Not Anymore: A Story Of Revolution producer Matthew Van Dyke and actor Sid Haig are among the honourees at the upcoming 16th Annual Arpa International Film Festival.
The recipients will attend a ceremony after the closing night gala screening of Masque directed by Robert Hatch.
The festival is set to run in Hollywood from September 26-29
“The 2013 nominees and Special Awards recipients Matthew Van Dyke and Sev Ohanian truly reflect the festival’s core philosophy, which is to cultivate cultural understanding and global empathy,” said Arpa founder and head Sylvia Minassian.
“These are films which shed light on people and places that Los Angeles audiences might only know from the news. Matthew’s film follows two people on the front lines of the conflict in Syria, while Sev’s film [pictured] shows the tragic effects of cultural divide here in the United States.
“Our Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Sid Haig in recognition of a remarkable career in which he continues to create memorable characters in scores of films and hundreds of television programmes.”
