UK distributor Artificial Eye has picked up UK rights to Alain Resnais' Private Fears In Public Places, which premiered in competition in Venice and will also play in Toronto.
The French-Italian co-production stars Lambert Wilson, Sabine Azema, Andre Dussollier, Laura Morante, Pierre Arditi and Isabelle Carre. Bruno Pesery produced the production from Aoudaine Production, Arena Films and France 2 Cinema.
The veteran French film-maker adapted the story from an Alan Ayckbourn comedy of manners, transposing the plot from London to Paris and from English into French culture. The plot's three strands follow a real estate agent and his sister, the agent's potential client and her boyfriend, and a bartender living with his father.
StudioCanal is handling sales and Mars Distribution will release in France.
