Artisan Entertainment and Alliance Atlantis Communications have renewed their 1998 output deal giving Alliance Atlantis the Canadian theatrical, home entertainment and TV rights to upcoming Artisan films for an additional three years.
The agreement also gives Alliance Atlantis Canadian rights for another five years to Artisan's 6,700-title film and TV library. Alliance Atlantis' recent launch of a special edition DVD of Terminator 2: Judgment Day is the company's largest DVD release to date, with 120,000 units sold.
In addition to the renewed distribution agreement in Canada, Artisan and Alliance Atlantis also have a distribution agreement in the UK with Momentum Pictures, a joint venture of Alliance Atlantis and Germany's Kinowelt.
The announcement was made by Artisan CEO Amir Malin, Victor Loewy, chairman of Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Production and Patrice Theroux, president of Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution.
