Ascot Elite, the Swiss distributor, has acquired the Swiss rights to Tom Ford’s A Single Manand John Hillcoat’s The Road.
The company signed a deal with IM Global for Ford’s directorial debut following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival last month. The film stars Julianne Moore and Colin Firth, who won the Coppa Volpi for Best Actor at the festival. It also screened at Toronto.
Meanwhile, Ascot picked up the rights to Hillcoat’s The Road from Film Nation during Toronto, where the film premiered. It stars Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.
Its late also includes a number of notable festival titles including Ethan and Joel Coen’s A Serious Man, Grant Heslov’s Men Who Star At Goats, Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story, plus the upcoming second instalment in the Twilight franchise, New Moon.
