BAFTA nominees both 'humbled' and 'thrilled'

Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan, co-chairman of Working Title Films, producers of Les Mis and Anna Karenina: “It is a great honour to be nominated for 15 BAFTA Awards and we are grateful to the British Academy members for recognising the achievements of all those involved in Les Misérables and Anna Karenina. Tom Hooper and Joe Wright made two beautiful films of which we are incredibly proud. These two British movies, shot in Britain are a great showcase for British talent in front of and behind the camera. It’s a wonderful start to 2013.”

Skyfall producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli: “We are absolutely thrilled Skyfall has received eight nominations from the British Academy. We thank everybody who has voted for Skyfall and all those who have contributed to the film’s continuing success.”

Bradley Cooper, Best Actor nominee for Silver Linings Playbook: “I am deeply humbled and extremely grateful for the honor of being recognized among these fantastic actors by the British Academy Film Awards. And now I have another excuse to visit one of the greatest cities in the world!”

Jennifer Lawrence, Best Actress nominee for Silver Linings Playbook: “This is really special for me because it’s the first time I’ve been recognized by BAFTA. So to have Silver Linings Playbook and this character be so embraced; makes for a really good day.”

Joaquin Phoenix, Best Actor nominee for The Master: “I am uncomfortably honored!”

Tessa Ross, Channel 4 controller of film and drama, which had four nominations for Seven Psychopaths, The Curse and The Imposter: “We are delighted that these films and the very talented teams behind them have been recognised by BAFTA. The nominations are truly deserved in what has been a diverse and bold year for British filmmaking - I wish all the nominees the very best of luck on the night.”

Ben Roberts, Director of the BFI Film Fund (which backed Seven Psychopaths, The Curse and Great Expectations): “It’s great to see a diverse range of British films nominated across so many categories at this year’s BAFTAs.
