Jeff Balsmeyer's Lightbulb, the rags-to-riches story of two brothers who come up with a revolutionary gizmo, will open the 33rd annual Cleveland International Film Festival on March 19th.

The film, which stars Dallas Roberts, Jeremy Renner and Ayelet Zurer (soon to be seen in Angels And Demons), is based on the life of screenwriter and producer Mike Cram.

The festival will close on March 29 with The Brothers Bloom directed by Rian Johnson and starring Rachel Weisz and Adrien Brody.

The event will present two film-makers with the Someone To Watch award - Ramin Bahrani and Gerardo Naranjo, whose work will be highlighted.

The festival presents three feature film competition sections with cash prizes - Central and Eastern European film competition ($10,000 prize), Greg Gund Memorial Standing Up Film Competition ($5,000 prize) and Nesnadny + Schwarz Documentary Film Competition ($5,000 prize).
