Filmmakers from the Baltic states, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Russia are to pitch 12 new film projects to potentialpartners at the Baltic Event's second co-production market which will be heldin Tallinn, Estonia, next week (Dec 4-5) during the Black Nights Film Festival.

This year's lineup includesLithuanian director Sarunas Bartas' $7.6m (Euros 5.76m) historical epic drama Margiris - Duke Of Samogitia; Swedishwriter-director Peter Modestij's feature debut The Symbiosis Project, which received the MEDIA New Talent Award atthe 2005 Cannes Film Festival; and Serbian filmmaker Bojan Vuletic's omnibus comedy-musical FromBelgrade With Love which was previously presented at the CineLink market inSarajevo in August.

Starting this year, themarket has cast its net further to cover other territories of the former Soviet Union with the selection of Georgian filmmaker DavidJanelidze's project Jacko's Lodgers.

In addition, the BalticEvent's organisers have introduced a section entitled Coming Soon which will bepresenting three projects from last year's lineup which arenow in postproduction: Alexander Hahn's Austrian-UK-Latvian co-production Midsummer Madness; an Estonian-Austrianco-production of Rainer Sarnet's teenage drama Where Souls Go; and Lithuanian Algimantas Puipa's Witches And Rain. Another two of the2005 projects - Usman Saparov's Yarik The Robinson and Aneta Lesnikovska's"mockumentary" The First BalkanDogma - will have their premieres early next year. The other seven projectspitched are in the financing or preproduction phases.
