As last year, the festival will be organised by film industry organisation, the Federation of National Film Associations of Thailand, and will be supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
Federation President, Jareuk Kaljareuk, holds the title of festival director and will oversee all administrative aspects of the event.
The artistic direction of the festival will again this year be the responsibility of the Thai Film Directors Association, under the leadership of the association’s president, Yongyoot Thongkongtoon. The programming office is managed by director of programming Pimpaka Towira and Mai Meksawan.
The 2009 edition of the festival will showcase approximately 80 feature films from around the world, with two competition sections.
The main competition is open to international films by first and second-time directors, while the South-East Asian Competition, is open to films from South-East Asian directors. Running concurrently with the festival there will also be several seminars and workshops.
