On the eve of the AFM, Bavaria Film International has sold IsraeliOscar entry Sweet Mudto Mongrel Media in Canada and Imovision in Brazil. The deals were concludedduring the Business Street Days of the Rome Film Festival earlier this month
Sweet Mud,directed by Dror Shaul, is the story of a 12-year-old boy who learns that hismother is mentally ill on a kibbutz. The film, an international premiere at theToronto International Film Festival, has done brisk business at the box-officein Israel, racking up 75,000 admissions since its release in September.
At AFM, Bavaria Film International is introducing buyers tovarious other new projects, among them Marcus H. Rosenmuller's Heavy Weights, a winter sports yarn about the battlefor the bob sleigh gold medal at the 1952 Oslo Olympics, and kids' detectivestory, TKKG And The Mysterious Mind Machine.
Bavaria is also giving first market screenings to Didi Danquart's Offsetand Rolf S Wolkenstein'sParadizers.
