Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) executives announced the winners of the 22nd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards at a ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Monday night [26].
Beasts Of The Southern Wild director Benh Zeitlin [pictured at right with stars Quvenzhane Wallis and Dwight Henry] was honoured with the Breakthrough Director and inaugural The Bingham Ray Award, which carries a camera package from Panavision valued at $60,000 and a $10,000 cash prize.
Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom was named best feature while David France’s How To Survive A Plague is the best documentary winner. See below for full winners’ list.
An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty won the Best Film Not Playing At A Theater Near You award, which includes a theatrical release package including a one-week run at Cinema Village in New York City, advertising support in the New York Times and a $15,000 cash award from The Royal Bank Of Canada.
The euphoria Calvin Klein Spotlight on Women Filmmakers ‘Live The Dream’ grant carries a $25,000 cash award for an alumna of IFP’s Independent Filmmaker Labs.
