The Berlin Festival has confirmed its dates for next year as 10-20 February, 2005.

The festival said that many of the new elements it initiated this year had been a success and will be continued at the next Berlinale.

These include the 14plus section of the Kinderfest sidebar, the Berlinale Special section, which this year featured the Marshall Plan retrospective. The festival said that it will also be pressing on with the Co-Production market which was introduced as part of the Talent Campus.

The festival said that the 2003 event sold 130,000 tickets to the public and saw the participation of 16,000 industry professionals (including 3,600 journalists) from 106 countries.

To keep up the public interest and celebrate the closing of the 55th edition, the festival will discount ticket prices on the last day.
