James Nesbitt will again host this year's awards, which move to the Roundhouse in London.
BIFA directors Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson said: 'In our 10th anniversary year we are planning to celebrate the very best in British filmmaking with a party to end all parties at the Roundhouse. We look forward to raising the profile of British independent films still further and honouring talented actors and emerging filmmakers in the years to come.'
To be eligible films have to be budgeted at less than $16m and have to have been released in the UK between Dec 1 2006 and Nov 30 2007. For detailed BIFA rules, visit www.bifa.org.uk.
