India's BIG Music & Home Entertainment, part of Reliance BIG Entertainment, has announced that it has been appointed by Warner Home Video as the exclusive licensee for the release of its catalogue in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

BIG Music & Home Entertainment will market and distribute VCD, DVD and Blu Ray products from Warner Home Video, including library titles such as Gone With The Wind, Doctor Zhivago, Ben Hur, the Matrix trilogy and the Harry Potter, Batman and Superman franchises.

Gregory Economou, vice president, Warner Home Video International said: 'We look forward to a successful association with Big Music & Home Entertainment and are delighted to be working together to bring our world-class entertainment to an increasing number of Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi consumers.'

Last year BIG Music & Home Entertainment signed a similar deal with Universal Pictures International. The company has a pan-Indian distribution network with reach into urban markets.

'We understand the importance of localisation and we have successfully taken Hollywood content to the common man by localising the content in various regional languages,' said Big Music & Home Entertainment CEO Kumeet Makkar.
