Nu Image has sold Italian rights to the Jason Statham films The Expendables and The Mechanic to Blu Cinematografica.
Danny Dimbort and Christian Mercuri negotiated on behalf of Nu Image with Blu Cinematografica head Massimo Ferrero.
The Expendables is shooting in New Orleans after a stint in Brazil and is directed by and stars Sylvester Stallone alongside Statham and Jet Li as mercenaries sent to overthrow a South American dictator.
Statham also stars in The Mechanic, a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson thriller. Simon West is directing the Chartoff Winkler Production, with Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff producing. David Winkler and William Chartoff, Nu Image/Millennium’s Dimbort, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and Avi Lerner serving as executive producers.
