The film won the audience award at the recently wrapped Alpinist Film Festival in the US ski resort of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Kelly was the most recognised person in the fast-growing snow sport. He and six others were killed in a massive avalanche in British Columbia in 2003.
The film is produced by Marc Grenier and Jacques Russo of Locomotion Films in Montreal. Jacques Russo directed the film, after having spent many years filming Kelly boarding. Bogeydom principal George Ayoub will screen the film for the first time at the European Film Market in February.
The film also won Best Mountain Culture Film at the Whistler Film Festival in December 2007, as well as Best Film and Best Soundtrack at X Dance, where is screened as a work-in-progress.
