AUGUST 24 UPDATE: The Hollywood-China marriage resumed after the summer blackout as Terminator: Genisys delivered a confirmed $27m debut in China on 25,000 screens and the Bride Wars remake arrived on $23.6m via Fox International.

UPDATED: The Terminator: Genisys result incorporated $2.2m from midnight screenings for the fourth biggest midnight opening and the fourth biggest opening day score behind Fast & Furious 7, Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Transformers 4 and Paramount’s second biggest opening day behind Transformers 4.
The $27m result also delivered new records for the franchise and Arnold Schwarzenegger and propelled the overall international running total to $263.6m.
Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation grossed a further $25.6m from 63 territories to position the action thriller on $281.3m.
A $2.5m number one debut in Italy in 578 venues was one of the highlights, alongside a $3.6m number one hold in France that drove the running total to $12.8m. Brazil generated $2m for a number one hold and $6m running total.
After three weekends the film has amassed $27.5m in Japan where it ranks second and $9.4m in Germany where it stayed top. The UK has produced $26.2m after four and South Korea $40.2m. The film opens in China on September 8.
The Little Prince added $843,000 from 921 in France for $8.6m after four sessions.
FOX INTERNATIONAL
UPDATED: While Fantastic Four continued to underperform, the distributor is enjoying extraordinary success with its foreign-language slate. Chinese remake Bride Wars from Fox International Productions opened in third place in China on $23.6m on 17,500 screens.
Brothers, the Indian Warrior remake that Fox distributes on behalf of Lionsgate, Endemol India and Dharma Productions, added $1.2m to reach an impressive $17.2m after two weekends. The film is a Fox Star presentation in India where it added $932,698 for $15.4m.
Fantastic Four brought in a further $15.3m from 74 markets as the international running total climbed to a lacklustre $79.9m with three markets remaining.
Venezuela delivered an impressive $2.4m number one debut from 72 screens, while Russia produced $2.6m for number one and South Korea $1.9m for number four.
Hitman: Agent 47 arrived in 24 smaller markets on $8.8m, led by a $1.3m number one debut in Malaysia and a $826,000 number three result in Mexico. This week brings debuts in 35 including the UK, Germany, France and Brazil.
Paper Towns added $4.6m from 41 for $42.6m and opened top in the UK on $3m including previews.
Pablo Trapero’s Argentinean thriller El Clan added $3.2m to reach $8.6m in its native country and held on to number one.
Meanwhile Chilean miners true-life drama The 33 stands at $3.8m in Chile where it has ranked number one for three weekends and is already the third biggest local film of all time.
The weekend haul of $978,000 boosted the running total to $4.1m and included a $217,000 number two launch in Colombia and a $141,000 debut in Central America.
ASIA UPDATE
Go Away Mr Tumor from China added $13m to reach $65m. A further $6.5m saw Monster Hunt climb to $365m.
South Korea’s Veteran added $10.5m for a $60m running total and The Assassination grossed $3.6m to reach $77m.
WALT DISNEY STUDIOS MOTION PICTURES INTERNATIONAL
Pixar’s Inside Out delivered an estimated $10.7m in its tenth weekend from 60 territories representing approximately 81% of the international marketplace. The running total stands at $347.5m.
The UK is the lead market on $24.6m, Mexico on $15m, France on $12.7m, Brazil $12.6m and Russia $11.4m. The worldwide haul stands at $361m.
Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man grossed $2.9m in its sixth weekend from 51 representing approximately 65% of the international marketplace and has climbed to $196.5m.
The lead market remains the UK on $47.5m, followed by South Korea on $32m, Mexico on $31.1m, Japan on $28.3m and France on $25.8m. The global tally has reached $689.9m.
UNIVERSAL PICTURES INTERNATIONAL
UPDATED: Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions added $9.6m from 58 territories to reach $670.2m and overtook the $650m lifetime total of Toy Story 3 to rank as the fourth biggest animation in the international pantheon.
The $990.2m global haul passed the lifetime total of Despicable Me 2 on $975.5m and The Lion King on $987.5m on Sunday to become the third highest animation worldwide. The film arrives this week in Italy and opens in China on September 4.
Jurassic World grossed $5.7m for $983.5m and held on to number one in Japan where it has grossed $48m after three sessions. The worldwide tally stands at $1.623bn.
Straight Outta Compton is in the early stages of release and took $150,000 for $196,000 via debuts in Norway and Slovenia, among others. It arrives this week in the UK and Germany.
Trainwreck added $3.5m in 29 for $19.8m and has amassed $3.1m in the UK after two weekends and $2.2m in Germany after the same period of time.
Ted 2 used a $2.9m haul to elevate the tally to $98.3m and arrives this week in Brazil, Mexico and Japan.
WARNER BROS PICTURES INTERNATIONAL
UPDATED: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. grossed $7.8m from 39 markets to reach $26.2m and added $1.5m in Russia for $6m and $1.4m in the UK for $5.5m.
In other results from the second weekend, Australia climbed to $2.3m, Spain $1.6m and Germany $1.3m. The action thriller opened top in the UAE on $676,000 from 46 screens.
Vacation added $7.3m from 36 for $16.3m and opened top in Australia on $1.2m from 299 screens and arrived in the UK on $951,000 from 432 and debuted in France on $6,000 from 235, Germany on $613,000 from 355 and Spain on $532,000 from 238.
In the second weekend the comedy climbed to $3.3m in Mexico and $2.2m in Italy. It opens this week in Russia.
SONY PICTURES RELEASING INTERNATIONAL
UPDATED: Pixels crossed $100m thanks to a $7.6m weekend from 82 markets that pushed the running total to $105.2m.
The film opened in Hong Kong on $821,000 from 93 102 and added $1.3m in the UK for $7.4m and has reached $7.8m in Germany. Insidious 2 stands at $59.5m and Ahora O Nunca (Now Or Never) on $9.1m.s
