JANUARY 28 UPDATE: Glass ruled global box office yet again as a confirmed $42.7m haul propelled the running total to $162.7m, and an unbeaten $23.6m international gross resulted in an $89.4m tally.
Fox’s Once Upon A Deadpool 2 scored a $21.8m debut in China, and Warner Bros’ Aquaman was confirmed as the biggest DC Universe worldwide release of all time.

UPDATED: Glass has reached $89.4m internationally from 55 material territories through Buena Vista International and M Night Shyamalan’s genre trilogy finale starring James McAvoy, Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson stands at $162m worldwide after two weekends.
The film remains number one in the UK, where it stands at $8.9m, and has reached $8.7m in Russia, and $4.6m in Australia. Glass also ranks top in the Middle East, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, and Venezuela.
Popular in many territories across the regions, Glass has grossed $8m in Mexico, $6.1m in France, $5.1m in Germany, $3.9m in Spain, $3.7m in South Korea, $3.6m in Italy, and $3.5m in Brazil. Shyamalan’s latest has overtaken the lifetime total of Split in Denmark, Czech Republic, Kuwait, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Turkey, U.A.E., Ukraine, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay.
Ralph Breaks The Internet added $10.2m from 29 material territories for $277.6m, and $473.6m worldwide. The family animation stormed to the top of the German charts with a $3.6m debut rising to $4.2m including previews, more than double the original’s opening and those of Coco and Moana. The lead territory is China on $39m, followed by Japan on $32.6m, and the UK on $22.6m.
Mary Poppins Returns added $4.3m from 35 material territories for $154m internationally and $319.2m worldwide. The UK remains the number one market on $53.6m, followed by Italy on $14.6m. The family film starring Emily Blunt has amassed $122.4m across Europe. Australia has delivered $12.3m, France $11.2m, and Spain $10.1m.

UPDATED: A $21.8m debut in China for Once Upon A Deadpool 2 propelled the family-friendly version of Deadpool 2 to $443m internationally. Fox International executives combine the film’s grosses with those of Deadpool 2.
Bohemian Rhapsody continues to entertain audiences after its Golden Globes success and in the run-up to the Oscars next month. The Queen and Freddie Mercury drama starring Rami Malek added $9.1m from 57 markets as the international running total reached $611.6m.
Japan was the star of the session on $2.1m for an extraordinary $93.3m haul after 12 weekends. Bohemian Rhapsody stands at $67.3m in the UK after 14, $36.9m in France after 13, $35.9m in Australia after 13, $31.7m in Italy after nine, $30.9m in Germany after 13, $29.4m in Spain after 13, and $20.3m in Holland after 13.
The Favourite, another awards season heavyweight that earned 10 Oscar nods last weekend, brought in $5.3m from 22 for an early $26.7m running total. The Restoration Comedy farce starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz opened in Italy in third place on $1.2m, and arrived in Germany in ninth on $456,333. The UK generated $1.2m in the fourth session for $16.6m.
The Kid Who Would Be King grossed $1.9m from 20 for an early $3.3m and the family adventure starring Patrick Stewart arrived in Indonesia in second place on $700,153 and in Philippines in third on $220,238. Dragon Ball Super: Broly added $1.9m from 19 to reach $70.1m. The anime has produced $34.1m in Japan after seven weekends, $10.5m in Mexico after three, and $3.4m in Chile after three.

Bumblebee consolidated its $300m-plus status with an extra $9m over the weekend from 60 markets to reach $317.2m. Unsurprisingly for a market where the Transformers brand has prospered, China was the key driver for the spin-off on $6.9m for $155.1m after four sessions. The UK has generated $15.4m after five, France $9.3m after five, Australia $8m after six, and Germany $7.6m after six.
Rose Byrne and Mark Wahlberg comedy Instant Family added $3m from 28 markets for $21.8m, opening in Spain at number six on $457,000, and Indonesia on $153,000 in fifth place. Australia led the holdovers on $1.1m for $6.8m after three, followed by Hong Kong on $114,000 for $348,000 after two.
WARNER BROS PICTURES INTERNATIONAL
UPDATED: Chinese production White Snake added $9.9m to hold on to second place and climb to $43.9m. The film is a Light Chaser Animation Studios and Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc. co-production, distributed by Joy Pictures in Mainland China.
Creed II added $14.2m from 45 for $76.1m and is tracking some 18% ahead of the original. The worldwide tally stands at $191.5m and the Michael B. Jordan sequel opened top in Italy on $4.3m, top in Spain on $2.1m, second in Germany on $2.1m, and third in Brazil on $1.1m. The third weekend in France delivered $1.6m for $11.6m. The UK remains the lead market on $12.8m.
Clint Eastwood’s The Mule brought in $8.5m from 44 for $14.6m as worldwide climbed to $114.8m. The drama opened at number one in France on $4.2m to rank as the early lead market, and arrived at number one in Australia on $1.4m. In the UK it opened on $934,000, while Mexico delivered $884,000.
Aquaman glided to $775.2m thanks to an $8.6m haul from 79 markets as the global figure reached $1.092bn to confirm the Jason Momoa smash as the biggest DC Universe film of all time. Australia was the territory highlight of the session on $958,000 for $27.8m after five weekends.
China is by far the film’s top market on $290.6m, with South Korea next on $39.1m, then Brazil on $34.9m, Mexico on $30.2m, and the UK on $28.1m. Aquaman now ranks as the highest grossing Warner Bros release in history in Brazil, where it stands at $34.9m after seven sessions. Japan is the final market to open on February 8.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald stands at $492.8m and A Star Is Born has grossed $207.2m.

UPDATED: DreamWorks Animation release How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World reached $41m after an $8m session in 18 territories. There were five debuts led by a superb $888,000 number one performance in Chile that brought in four times as much as the second film in the family animation series.
Brazil delivered the top holdover result on $2.3m for $7.9m after two weekends to rank number one, followed by Australia on $1.2m for $14.3m after four to rank third. Colombia has generated $2.2m after two, Netherlands $1.9m after two, and Central America $1.4m after two. The Hidden World opens in North America on February 22.
Mary Queen Of Scots grossed $4.2m from 24 for an early $13.7m, and $30.1m worldwide. The historical drama starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie opened in 11 markets (where the highlight was $76,000 in Poland) and grossed a further $1.9m in its second session in the UK to reach $6.4m and rank second. Australia has generated $1.9m, Italy $1.5m, and Germany $1.1m – all after two weekends.
Fantasy adventure Mortal Engines stands at $65.7m internationally and $81.6m worldwide, including $6.7m from China after two weekends.

UPDATED: Horror thriller Escape Room grossed $7.4m from 19 markets as the early running total climbed to $28.5m, fuelled by $6.1m from China, where the tally stands at $22.3m after two sessions. A Dog’s Way Home added $4.4m this weekend from 22 SPRI markets for $10.5m, as Mexico held strong in its second session to add $828,292 for $2.9m. Oscar-nominated Golden Globe winner Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse added $2.8m from 63 markets to stand at $168.1m. It opens in Japan on March 8.
LIONSGATE INTERNATIONAL
UPDATED: Green Book, another Golden Globe winner that earned Oscar nods last week, brought in a further $6.3m from 33 Lionsgate and Amblin markets to reach $11m. Some $4.2m of the weekend haul came from Lionsgate markets led by a $1.7m French debut that ranked fourth, and $1m from Russia that marked the best opening weekend in the territory for distributor Capella. Lionsgate territories have generated $7.3m for the film starring Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali.

Jennifer Lopez rom-com Second Act grossed $3.4m to stand at $24.1m from 62 markets. The worldwide tally has reached $62.5m.
