Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano global smash has taken $7.1m in North America so far, which according to The Weinstein Company makes it the highest grossing foreign-language film at the domestic box office for the year-to-date.

The family drama has amassed $356m internationally where it has become the biggest French release of all time in Germany and the third biggest film ever to open in France.

The Intouchables opened on May 25 through The Weinstein Company and is set to expand wide on Jul 27.
