Universal/WorkingTitle's Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason is expected to pass $200m atthe worldwide box office this week after an estimated $8.6m weekend haul on3,100 screens in 31 territories raised the international running total to$154m.
The romantic comedy sequel has grossed $145.5m through UIP and opens in Italyon Jan 7 2005. Added to its $38m-plus domestic tally, the picture has grossed more than $192m wordwide to date.
Bridget ranked third in its third weekend in Germany on $1.1m on 688 for$11.3m, third in Austria after the same amount of time on $2m, sixth in the UKon $1.1m on 370 for $62.7m, and eighth in Spain on $9.4m after five weekends.
The picture ranks eighth in Australia, where it has amassed $13.3m. South Koreahas produced $4.8m after two weekends and Brazil has yielded $1.3m after threeweekends.
Seed Of Chucky, the latest instalment in the Child's Playfranchise through Rogue Pictures, climbed to sixth place in Spain on $1.4mafter two weekends.
The German comedy sensation Seven Dwarves remains the number one picturein Germany and has amassed $53.3m from Germany, Austria, Switzerland andLuxembourg over nine weekends.
