The 38th Mill Valley Film Festival will host the California premiere of awards season prospect Room accompanied by a Spotlight on star and MVFF Award recipient Brie Larson.
The actress’ feature breakthrough came wonith Destin Daniel Cretton’s SXSW 2013 hit Short Term 12, having already earned a small screen following for her recurring role in United States Of Tara.
She was recently seen in Trainwreck and stars in Ben Wheatley’s upcoming crime thriller Free Fire.
Room is based on Emma Donoghue’s bestseller about a mother who shields her five-year-old son from the reality that they are incarcerated in a single room. The film will receive its world premiere in Toronto.
The 38th Mill Valley Film Festival is set to run from October 8-18.
