The Miami International FilmFestival ended yesterday with Amma Assante's British feature A Way Of Lifewinning the grand jury prize and the FIPRESCI prize for best dramatic featurein world cinema competition.
In the documentary featurecategory, the grand jury prize went to Scott Dalton and Margarita Martinez's LaSierra from Colombia which shows a Medellin barrio on the front lines ofColombia's ongoing civil war.
In the Ibero-American cinemadramatic competition, Josue Mendez's Days Of Santiago from Peru won thegrand jury prize, with special jury mention going to Pilar Ruiz Gutierrez's Alicia'sNames from Spain and acting prizes going to Mirella Pascual for Whiskyfrom Uruguay and Damian Alcazar for Chronicas from Ecuador.
