British Columbia Film hasappointed Richard Brownsey as its new executive director, effective September1.
Brownsey, formerly executivedirector of the British Columbia Arts Council and director of the ProvincialCultural Services Branch, was an architect of the province's film andtelevision tax credit system.
"I am looking forward tothis challenge," said Brownsey in a statement."British Columbia Film hasplayed a critical role in developing the film and television community inBritish Columbia, and I am honoured to have the opportunity of contributing toits continued growth."
BC Film, an arm's lengthagency of the provincial government, administers the BC tax credit program onbehalf of the government as well as providing development and productionfinancing assistance to local filmmakers.
