In addition, Panorama section head Wieland Speck has unveiled the final line-up of 17 titles for the Panorama Dokumente, opening with the world premiere of celebrated American film essayist Lynn Hershman Leeson's Strange Culture which documents the extremely paranoid reaction of US security authorities in the case of Steve Kurtz, a biogenetics professor who is suspected of terrorism.
Other Panorama Dokumente world premieres include Leopold Gruen's The Red Elvis about the American singer and entertainer Dean Reed who achieved stardom in East Germany, Andre Schaefer's Here's Looking At You, Boy on the history of queer film with contributions by Francois Ozon, Stephen Frears and Gus van Sant, and Olivier Meyrou's portrait of the creative world of fashion mogul Yves Saint Laurent in Celebration.
