The 17th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) has announced its New Currents competition, which includes six world premieres and four international premieres.
International premieres include Iraqi film 111 Girls and Taiwanese film Touch Of The Light, which was recently picked up by Fortissimo Films.
The ten films from eight countries feature up-and-coming first and second-time feature directors such as Iraqi/Kurdish filmmaker Bahman Ghobadi’s sister Nahid, Vincent Sandoval, whose feature debut Senorita screened in Locarno competition, and two graduates of the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) Intensive Program, Lee Donku and Kim Sung Hyun.
