Odin’s Eye Entertainment (OEE) has sold Australian First World War epic Forbidden Ground to Momentum for the UK, Dutch Film Works for Benelux and Star Alliance for China.
Shot in Sydney, the film revolves around two soldiers stranded in no mans’ land after a failed charge on the Western Front in the First World War.
The film, which is scheduled for completion in June 2012, is directed by first-timer Adrian Powers with co-director and producer Johan Earl.
“We’ve been thrilled with the response to the three-minute promo,” said OEE CEO Michael Favelle. “We have high expectations for the film and it’s wonderful that distributors are also excited about it’s potential.”
OEE also picked up Chinese travelogue One Mile Above (Kora), about a young man cycling to the highest point in Tibet, on the eve of the EFM. The film, which screened in competition at the Tokyo film festival last year, is directed by Du Jiayi and produced by Chen Kuo-fu.
