The inaugural Cambodia International Film Festival (CIFF) will take place in the city of Phnom Penh in October.
Cambodia’s first international film festival is to take place from October 20-24, in the city of Phnom Penh.
Hosted by the government’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the festival is being organised by FX Entertainment, the Cambodia Film Commission, Kmy Films and the Association of Filmmakers of Cambodia.
Final submissions for the festival are now being accepted, with the full line up due to be announced in mid September. The inaugural edition will have a focus on French and African cinema. It will also play host to the Cinema Industry Showcase (CIS), which aims to display the latest film equipment, products and services.
“We had to increase the number of days for the festival from 4 to 5 because of the volume of submissions,” said Allan Cheung, CMO of FX Entertainment and festival co-organizer. “But there is still time for a few more before we make our final decisions.”
