The Critics Week line up was announced Thursday morning in Paris with seven titles in the main selection and a decidedly Latin feel. Of those, only one, Brazil's A Via Lactea by Lina Chamie, is not a first film. (see list below) meaning that the remaining films are all eligible for the Camera d'Or.
Actor Gael Garcia Bernal will be the sidebar's guest of honor and will present his first film as a director, Deficit.
Other special screenings include El Asaltante by Pablo Fendrik; El Orfanato by Juan Antonio Bayona, which is produced by Guillermo Del Toro; Inside by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo; documentary The Mosquito Problem And Other Stories by Andrey Paounov; the FIPRESCI revelation of the year, Yo from Rafa Cortes and finally Newton Aduaka's Ezra.
