The Indian Film Company (TIFC) has struck a deal with New York-based digital distributor Saavn for 14 titles to be released across the company’s cable VoD network in the UK and North America.
The package includes recent blockbusters such as Singh Is Kinng, which grossed around $30m (€22.1m) on its theatrical roll-out last year, along with Welcome, Jab We Met, Kidnap, Golmaal Returns and Dil Kabaddi.
Saavn will make the titles available to consumers through its partnerships with Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Cox, Rogers, Shaw and UK-based Virgin Media, among other platforms.
Claiming to be the world’s largest digital distributor of Bollywood films, Saavn is a joint venture between [212]MEDIA and Hungama Mobile and has offices in Mumbai,London, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.
The company also recently signed a deal with US online video service Hulu.com to stream Hindi-language films free to the consumer.
