NeoClassics Films’ new NeoClassics Productions division has set an October 11 start date for its debut feature Gypsy Love from Captain Abu Raed director Amin Matalqa.
The Los Angeles and Vancouver-based company will handle US distribution and international sales on the romantic comedy about the relationship between a young woman from an Italian family in Brooklyn and a mysterious gypsy.
Matalqa wrote the screenplay with Slade Kennett and NeoClassics Films CEO Irwin Olian is producing.
“While NeoClassics will be very busy the next six months with our full slate of US theatrical releases including St. Trinian’s, Captain Abu Raed and Surviving Crooked Lane, we felt that Gypsy Love is so compelling both dramatically and commercially that we had to get involved at the production level,” Olian said.
