Taipei-based producer-distributor Joint Entertainment International has sold two award-winning Taiwanese titles – The Most Distant Course and Island Etude – to Vanguard International Cinema for the US.

Lin Ching-chieh’s The Most Distant Course, which won the Venice Critic’s Week award in 2007, also went toBrunBro Films for Benelux. Chen Huai-en’s Island Etude won prizes for cinematography and the Media Choice award at the Taipei film festival in 2007.

Joint has also sold Sumimasen, Love to Panorama Corp for Hong Kong. The romantic drama-comedy stars Japanese actress Chie Tanaka who shot to fame following her role in Taiwanese smash hit Cape No. 7, which has become the highest-grossing film of all time in Taiwan.
