Swedish sales outfit The Yellow Affair is to handle world sales on Mika Kaurismaki’s epic Seventeenth biopic Kristina Of Sweden.

The film’s star Malin Buska was presented to the international press in Cannes yesterday.

Kristina Of Sweden paints a portrait of a young, extravagant and atypical 17th century queen who reigned from the age of 7 until her startling abdication at 28.

The screenplay is written by Canada’s Michel Marc Bouchard. The film is a co-production between Canada, Sweden, Finland, Germany and France and is slated to shoot in February 2013 in Sweden and Germany with post in Canada. The producers are Anagram Film AB of Sweden, Marianna Films of Finland, Triptych Media of Canada, Starhaus Filmproduktion of Germany and Arsam International of France.

Yellow Affair has already begun pre-sales on the film, which brings back to screen a character played by MGM in the classic 1933 film.
