Austrian sales outfit Autlook has snapped up world rights to Reindeer Spotting, the controversial Lapland-set feature doc from production outfit Bronson Club, the company behind steamy horror hit Sauna.
The film, dubbed ‘Trainspotting in Santa Land’ has been a runaway success with Finnish audiences. Released five weeks ago, it has racked up 51,000 admissions, making it Finland’s biggest grossing documentary ever.
Reindeer Spotting is about a group of young men living in Rovaniemi, in the Arctic Circle, dabbling in petty crime and hard drugs. One of them, Jani, wants to leave Lapland and his delinquent life behind. The doc chronicles his life and struggles.
