EXCLUSIVE: Canadian outfit Raven Banner closes deals on Mexican war epic.
Raven Banner has closed deals for Rafa Lara’s Cinco de Mayo: The Battle with Mono Film for Thailand and H.G.C. Entertainment for China, making it among the first Mexican films due for theatrical release in China.
The title grossed more than $1m in Mexico.
The company has also closed deals on fantasy sci-fi Manborg with Eden for Japan, Night Visions for Scandinavia and Elephant Films for France.
Sleeper hit ’The Boy With The Pink Trousers’ was top local title of 2024, followed by Paolo Sorrentino’s ’Parthenope’.
Julie BIlly and Naomi Denamur are also developing films including Clémence Poésy’s directorial debut ‘Adaptation’ .
