EXCLUSIVE: Germany’s Cineplus Filmproduktion has come on board as co-producers of EPIC, an international co-production between the UK, Germany, Russian and Georgia.
Cineplus will deliver complete sound and picture post-production on the film starting next week, after they already supplied camera equipment for the shoot.
Ben Hopkins directed the film, which he co-wrote with Pawel Pawlikowski. It finished shooting in March in Georgia.
The film is a black comedy about a British filmmaker (Matthew Macfadyen) who gets invited to an obscure Caucasus republic to make an epic film. The cast also includes Myanna Buring and Noah Taylor.
The film is a co-production between London-based Film & Music Entertainment, Frankfurt-based Brandstorm Entertainment, Metrafilms in Moscow and Tbilisi’s 20 Steps.
“We want to follow our very creative shoot in Georgia with a similar experience in post experience,” said F&ME’s Mike Downey, “And Cineplus have provided the answer to all our post solutions. We look forward to getting moving on the sound and picture post and to benefitting from the quality services that we have had to date on the equipment park side of things.”
